We were picked up from the airport by camel, and stayed in a several-hundred-years-old fort. We went to the Medina, which I didn’t really enjoy, as I usually insist on paying more for things, not less, and to a nightclub in a riad, where we sat in the roof garden, listening to the sounds of the city.
On the third day, though, I got a migraine, so had to be airlifted home, which meant my husband missed traversing the desert by quad bike with Alex James. I stayed at David’s flat the night before we flew: his bedroom was full of shoe boxes, receipts and carrier bags.
